Editorial policy: how we write, check and update answers
1. What we publish
Each page answers one question that people genuinely ask, along with the other ways they phrase it. We publish general information about how money rules work. We do not give personal advice, and we never make buy, sell or hold calls or price targets.
2. How answers are written
- The first sentence answers the question directly.
- Next we explain the rule in plain English, with the current figures for the country the question is about. UK pages use UK rules and US pages use US rules.
- Every page has a worked example with real numbers, and we re-check that the sums add up.
- Answers are written in our own words. We do not copy forum posts or other websites.
- Drafting may be assisted by software, but no page is published until it has passed the checks below.
3. How we fact-check
- Official sources only for figures. Every tax rate, allowance, limit, threshold and deadline must match an official source, such as GOV.UK, HMRC manuals, IRS.gov, the FCA Handbook, the CFPB or MoneyHelper, and is linked in the page's Sources list.
- If we cannot verify a number, we leave it out.
- Automated quality gate. Our publishing system refuses pages that have not passed fact-checking, have no sources, have a weak direct answer, are too thin, or are near-duplicates of other pages.
- Calculators use one file of verified rates, and the maths is tested against known results before each release.
4. How we keep pages up to date
The "Updated" date on a page changes only when we have re-checked it or the content has changed. When governments publish new rates, for example at the start of the UK tax year on 6 April or when the IRS releases inflation adjustments, we update the affected pages and calculators and change their dates.
5. Corrections
If you find an error, email fasteststocknews@gmail.com with the page address. We aim to review reports within a few working days and fix confirmed errors promptly.
6. Independence and advertising
Advertising, if shown, is clearly labelled and kept separate from our content. Advertisers cannot see or influence answers before they are published.
