Days Calculator
Count the days between two dates as calendar days, business days (skipping weekends and US federal holidays), weeks, and years-months-days, with the option to include the end date. You can also add or subtract days, business days, weeks, months or years from any date.

US federal holidays
When a holiday falls on a Saturday, it is observed on Friday; on a Sunday, on Monday (federal employee rule).
Date to date calculator: how days are counted
The calculator subtracts the start date from the end date, so November 4 to November 5 is 1 day. Tick "Include the end date" when you need to count both days, for example a hotel stay of nights vs days, or a contract that runs "from and including" one date "through" another. Leap years (February 29) are counted automatically.
- Calendar days count every day, including weekends and holidays. Most legal and notice periods use calendar days unless they say otherwise.
- Business days count Monday to Friday and, with the box ticked, skip the 11 US federal holidays. Banks and many courts follow this calendar; your employer or state may have its own.
- Date duration in years, months and days counts whole months first, then the remaining days.

Subtract the earlier date from the later one. November 4 to December 25, 2026 is 51 days, or 52 if you count both dates.

Count only Monday through Friday and leave out public holidays. The calculator skips the 11 US federal holidays when the box is ticked.

Not by default. Tick 'Include the end date' to count both the start and end days.
How many business days are in a year?
There are 261 weekdays in 2026, and 250 business days after the 11 federal holidays (all of which fall on, or are observed on, weekdays in 2026).
