How to calculate cubic feet
Multiply length × width × height in feet. If you measured in inches, multiply the three numbers and divide by 1,728 (12 × 12 × 12). A box 24 × 18 × 16 inches is 6,912 ÷ 1,728 = 4 cubic feet. For a cylinder, use π × (diameter ÷ 2)² × height.

|---|---|
| Cubic inches | 1,728 |
| US gallons | 7.4805 |
| Liters | 28.3168 |
| Cubic yards | 0.037 (1/27) |
Use the quantity column for several identical boxes, for example when sizing a storage unit or moving truck. Fridges and freezers are sold by interior cubic feet.
