How to add feet and inches
Convert everything to inches (feet × 12 + inches), add or subtract, then convert back: divide by 12 for feet, and the remainder is inches. 5' 7 3/4" + 3' 9 5/8" = 67.75 + 45.625 = 113.375 inches = 9' 5 3/8".
