Take-home pay (2026 federal estimate)
How the salary conversion works
An hourly rate ร hours per week ร 52 = annual salary. At 40 hours a week that's 2,080 hours a year, so $25 an hour is $52,000 a year, $1,000 a week, $2,000 every two weeks and $4,333.33 a month. Going the other way, divide the annual salary by 2,080 to get the hourly rate: $60,000 a year is $28.85 an hour.
If your holidays or vacation days are unpaid, choose "No, unpaid" and the second column shows your pay after those days.
How the take-home estimate works
- Federal income tax uses the 2026 brackets and standard deduction ($16,100 single, $32,200 married filing jointly) from the IRS 2026 inflation adjustments. It assumes no other income, credits or itemized deductions.
- Social Security is 6.2% of wages up to the 2026 wage base of $184,500. Medicare is 1.45% of all wages, plus 0.9% above $200,000 (single) or $250,000 (married filing jointly).
- State tax differs widely, from 0% in states such as Texas and Florida to graduated rates elsewhere, so enter your own effective state rate.
