Current savings bond rates (November 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027)

I bond composite rate = fixed + 2 × semiannual inflation + fixed × semiannual inflation = 1.40% + 4.08% + 0.03% = 5.51%. The inflation part resets every May and November with CPI-U; the fixed part never changes.

How this savings bond estimator values a bond

Interest is added every six months and compounds semiannually. The estimate holds today's rates constant, which is exact for EE bonds and an approximation for I bonds, whose inflation rate changes twice a year. To value bonds you already own with their actual rate history, use TreasuryDirect's savings bond calculator (paper bonds) or your TreasuryDirect account (electronic bonds).
